Sure, you can go to the store and buy some plain old can of whipped cream. Been there, done that.
Making homemake whipped cream absolutely takes your recipe to the next level! It tastes so much better and looks way fancier than the manufactured stuff
The Ingredients
It’s so simple, you’ll wonder why you haven’t made it before!
Heavy Whipping Cream: Quite literally in the name, this is the main stuff that becomes our beloved whipped cream
Sugar: This adds the sweet touch we know and love in whipped cream. Be sure to sift the sugar to avoid big clumps if you are using powdered sugar in your whipped cream
Vanilla: This adds extra flavor to the recipe and smells amazing.
Since we aren’t baking this, you may worry the vanilla might make the result taste slightly bitter. I promise you it doesn’t, it’s too small an amount to make a difference!
Time to mix: I mixed this by hand to record an accurate time for mixing. Using a hand whisk, it took me exactly 12 minutes to form stiff peaks
Mixing tip, put the whisk between both palms and twist the whisk in your hands in circles around the bowl. Personally I find it less exhausting than the alternative, whisking quickly by hand.
