The sweetest, most versatile topping for seemingly every recipe is streusel topping!
I love a streusel topping on muffins, coffee cakes, or fruit cobblers that need a sugary touch.
You’ll only need 4 simple ingredients, all of which you most likely have somewhere in your kitchen at this very moment
Ingredients
- All Purpose Flour
- Granulated Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Unsalted Butter
All-purpose flour should be a staple in every cabinet, it can be used for almost any recipe that calls for flour and can be found in every grocery store I’ve been to
Granulated sugar is ideal for our streusel. Brown sugar has molasses, which keeps recipes moist and chewy. For our crumbly topping, we want uniform crumbles that maintain a textured surface rather than baking into the batter
Cinnamon adds a touch of extra flavor to the topping
Unsalted butter provides the moisture to hold the recipe together. We don’t want to add extra salt to this one, so opt for unsalted if possible
